JEDEC Announces JEDEX Shanghai, China

JEDEC, the leading developer of standards for the semiconductor industry, recently announced that the JEDEX conference will be held in Shanghai, China at the Hilton hotel on October 21-22, 2003.
The event includes two full days of presentations highlighting the latest developments and issues in semiconductor technology. Dr. Richard Chang, President & CEO of SMIC, the largest semiconductor foundry in China, will be the opening keynote speaker. The conference will also feature keynotes by T. S. Jung, Senior Vice President of Samsung Semiconductor; a senior executive from Micron Technology Inc.; and a senior executive from Infineon Technologies AG.
Covered topics will include the latest developments in lead free processing; quality and reliability; wireless technology; packaging technology; connector technology; and mainstream memory, including memory applications, DIMM testing, and specific design training on DDR1 and DDR2. Presentations will also be made on handling intellectual property and the role JEDEC plays in worldwide semiconductor standardization.
China based supporting organizations include the Chinese Electronic Standardization Institute (CESI) and China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA).
