There are concerns that one of the recent Internet worms, Sobig.F, which ran amok across computer systems in the US but now appears to be in abatement, may have infected millions of computers across China.
Around 20 million of China's Internet users, roughly 30% of the total, are estimated to have been attacked by Sobig.F because of a low level of awareness and a widespread absence of efficient antivirus software. Sobig.F, a "worm" virus so called for its ability to infect computer operating systems, multiplies by using email addresses it finds in infected computers. and it is the fastest propagating system yet encountered.
