Birdstep Technology, a developer of wireless infrastructure software for mobile IP and secure wireless access, as well as development of small footprint, high performance database technologies, announced recently that it has established a full time presence in China, with the opening of an office in Shanghai.
Jorgen Bredensen, CEO of Birdstep Technology, commented, "There is tremendous potential in China and South-East Asia. With this move, we expect to make a footprint in the market share for this region within two to three years. Countries in this region are at the forefront of deployment of wireless technologies, and popularity of advanced mobile terminals such as smart phones, laptops and PDA's are increasing at a high pace. Birdstep Technology has now a mobile IP solution that fits the emerging CDMA market, targeting China at this point makes sense since our product portfolio is optimized to serve this market in addition to the GSM, UMTS and WLAN deployments."
The new Birdstep office will be located in the prestigious Zhangjiang High-tech Park centrally located in Shanghai in the Pudong district.
