Silicon Storage Technology Inc. (SST) said today it has extended its SuperFlash core licensing agreement with Shanghai Hua Hong NEC Electronics Co. to include 0.25-micron process technology.
SST will develop and license SuperFlash IP cores that Hua Hong NEC customers can use in ASICs, microcontrollers, and other embedded flash products. The cores will be developed by SST's China design team located in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, Shanghai. Two weeks ago, Hua Hong NEC Electronics signed Jazz Semiconductor as a minority investor and partner to produce 0.25- and 0.18-mircon silicon germanium, BiCMOS, and CMOS chips at the Shanghai fab using Jazz technology.
