Asia Broadband Launches English Education Internet Portal

Asia Broadband, Inc. recently announced that, through its 93% owned Chinese subsidiary, Shanghai Broadband Network, Inc., the company has officially launched the "Fudan New English" program, one of China's largest interactive, multimedia English education Internet portals (www.ie.online.sh.cn).
The Fudan New English learning solution has been built up through a partnership between Shanghai Broadband Network, Shanghai Online Education Center of Shanghai Telecom and the Distance Education College of Fudan University, one of the top universities in China.
The online content of Fudan New English originates directly from the Chinese-English bilingual Quartet CE Online language program jointly owned by Shanghai Broadband Network and the UK leading multimedia education company ¨C Q Group Plc. The Fudan New English portal consists of more than 750 hours of interactive and multimedia self-learning online courseware, 64 units of intensive online teaching video lectures, e-magazine and interactive classrooms ¨C a state-of-the-art online teaching solution. Students also have the opportunity to opt for the blended learning approach combining the benefits of online multimedia English training together with the more traditional classroom training methods.
Mr. Yuguo Zhang, the founder and CEO of the Company, said that while some main Chinese Internet portals are generating solid revenues from their operations in China, online education is becoming one of the prime business areas in the Internet content sector in China. "Asia Broadband is wholly focused on becoming the leading provider of online educational programs in China and throughout Asia, and the official launch of Fudan New English shows a very significant move towards achieving that goal in China."
