Advanced Analogic Technologies, Inc., (AnalogicTech), a developer of low-voltage power management solutions, has moved its Hong Kong operations into the newly completed Hong Kong Science & Technology Park (HKSTP).
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Analogic Technologies, Inc. headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, the company's Hong Kong entity is the central logistics, process engineering, and manufacturing hub of a larger global manufacturing and sales enterprise.
"Our Asian-centric manufacturing model uses wafer fabrication and back-end 'partners' located throughout Asia and Greater China, including Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Hsinchu, Taiwan," said Richard K. Williams, president, CEO, and CTO. "With our rapid sales growth and unit-volumes in the hundreds-of-millions, the time for expanding our Hong Kong activities couldn't be more perfect."
AnalogicTech broke from the traditional fabless business model by partnering with DRAM-memory fabs (rather than conventional wafer foundries), and installing its own proprietary processes and technologies for power management ICs and ultra-dense discrete (trench-gate) power MOSFETs into ex-DRAM fabs, adding yet another dimension to its sustainable competitive advantage.
