Xybernaut Corporation and Shenzhen Sunshine Hi-Tech Co., Ltd, recently announced that they have entered into an agreement under which Shenzhen Sunshine will resell and adapt Xybernaut wearable computing solutions to the China and Hong Kong marketplaces.
In another development involving the Far East, Xybernaut announced last week that the Company would work with Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics to develop mobile/wearable computing solutions in China.
As part of the agreement, Sunshine Hi-Tech will port its operating systems to current and future Xybernaut products, and coordinate the design and manufacture of future Xybernaut patented products in China for the China marketplace. The companies will also immediately begin working together on designing future architectures for mobile computing and communications operating systems.
Sunshine Hi-Tech's all-Chinese embedded operating system (OS) has an installed base in Asia of over two million users for its Sunshine 2000 proprietary OS. The Sunshine 2000 embedded OS has been widely applied via original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Subsequently, Sunshine Hi-Tech has obtained hundreds of millions in software licensing fees — representing one of the most profitable IP licensing models in China.
