After having his weapons and assets stolen by a hacker in an online game, a Chinese court has awarded Li Hongchen, 24, all of his lost gaming assets.
Li Hongchen spent two years and 10000 CNY in the online computer game Hongyue, or Red Moon. His online property was stolen in February when a hacker broke into the servers of the game creator, Beijing Arctic Ice Technology Development Company.
Beijing Arctic Ice refused to provide the private details of the hacker and denied Li compensation for his lost resources. Local police also provided no satisfactory conclusion, so Li took his case to court, where he was awrded 10000 CNY.
