Peerless Systems Corporation, a provider of imaging and networking controllers to the digital document market, today announced an agreement with Legend (Beijing) Limited (Legend) to utilize Peerless controllers and technologies for an upcoming color printer to be marketed in China.

Under this agreement, Peerless is providing turnkey development of an office color tandem laser printer. Legend is a wholly owned subsidiary of Legend Group Limited, China's leading IT provider.

In 2002, Legend licensed Peerless technologies for the internal development of a 22-page-per-minute monochrome printer, the LJ7500E, which is currently shipping in the PRC. Under this new agreement, Legend will license PeerlessPrint, PeerlessPage, and PeerlessDriver for a new office tandem color laser printer. In addition, Legend will purchase the Peerless QuickPrint graphics co-processor for use in the upcoming color printer.
