Email inboxes and network bandwidth are clogged for many Chinese netizens thanks to a new worm called Mydoom.
Novarg or Shimgapi are alternate names for this new worm, and experts say about 250,000 computers are already infected in China. This number is expected to rise as users start using their computers again after the long Chinese Lunar New Year holiday.
Experts believe that Russia is the source of this new variant and it is also programmed to carry out attacks on www.sco.com today. The virus is programed to stop functioning on Sunday, February 12, 2004.
SCO may have been targeted because of recent lawsuits it is involved with other Linux-related companies and organizations.
