RailCom To Enter 3G Market In 2004

In the course of the company's working conference yesterday, a spokeperson from Railcom announced that their main task in 2004 would be to make full preparations for entering the 3G mobile communications market.
In the meantime, under an arrangement with the Ministry of Information Industry, the company is carrying on 3G outfield trials and digital cluster trials in three cities–Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu.
It is also said that since RailCom belongs to the State Asset Commission, it has received more preferential policies from the government and has bee attempting to trying to promote its own products while absorbing the successful experience of other telecommunications counterparts. Currently, RailCom is targeting at developing its fixed telephone service and simultaneously entering the mobile market in a bid to increase profits.
