Earlier in February, the top management of virtually the entire WLAN industry convened to discuss the qualification approval and implementation of the WLAN national standard and to prepare to establish a 'Standard Alliance.'
From June 1 onwards, the Quality Inspection departments and the Departments of Industry and Commerce will make joint efforts to monitor the upgrading of WLAN standards in all electronic products and request those who have not conformed with the changes to exit the market. So far, however, there has been no clear indication of who will be responsible for paying for upgrading the products.
