According to Mr. Wang Zhiqin, deputy director of the Communications Standard Research Institute of the MII, in the second phase of 3G tests, which is to be launched this month and will end in September, three types of technical trial nets will be constructed at the 2GHz frequency to realize a series of comprehensive tests, including network performance tests, mobile service and application tests, wireless disturbance tests, service support system tests, mutual operation tests and new technology tests.
China's 3G tests have been split into two phases. The first period of testing was on the MTnet. In this series of tests, everything went well for TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and CDMA2000 based system equipments, but it was judged that the terminals still needed to be improved.
