According to the First China Enterprise Informationization Process Survey, China's enterprises are accelerating their implementation of solutions based on the Internet and IT in order to enhance their productivity and profit-making capacities.
Although much progress has been made in this regard, the survey notes that there is still a large disparity between them and the top world enterprises.
The survey is the first of its kind, focusing on insight and analysis of the management and status of Chinese enterprises' informationization, problems encountered, and comparison with other enterprises. It attaches key importance to the four major elements which usually influence the success of enterprise informationization: leadership, the management mechanism, executive capacity, and the IT platform. The survey feels that these illuminate the key points and an effective route for successful informationization, rather than simply calculating the number of PCs, servers and other IT equipment that an enterprise possesses.
