The construction of Beijing's first digital TV trial complex was started yesterday in Chaoyang District's Palm Spring Apartments.
Upon completion, residents will be able to surf online with their television and order programs according to their preferences. Currently, seven channels that cover such areas as news, music and shopping have been launched, with the number set to increase to 80 in the next year.
The project was jointly launched by Beijing Broadcasting, Film and TV Group's affiliates Beijing Beiguang Media & Digital Television Co., Ltd, Beijing Gehua CTV Co., Ltd, Beijing Ruite Film and Video Products Trade Co., Ltd and Palm Spring International Apartment Developer. Beijing is part of the first group of 33 cities involved in the trial.
