Taiwan-based Acer is preparing to launch wireless notebook PCs this summer that will support Chinese encryption standards, as Intel Centrino products are still facing a ban in the country.
Acer will use two local wireless module producers to be able to continue selling its notebooks on the mainland, with media speculating that Acer is cooperating with a Chinese-certified wireless firm in Xian.
