It is being reported in the Chinese media that the country's two digital TV standards–the satellite transmission standard and the videotape standard–have been defined and approved.
At the same time, with the rapid development of these digital television standards, domestic color TV manufacturers have begun a full-scale move into the field this month.
Following Skyworth's practice, whose 32FW color TV is claimed to be the only high-clarity digital television to pass the State's inspection, Hisense has announced that it will promote four categories, totaling 20+ types of 1080P format color TV sets in April, including equal-ion, liquid-crystal, back-projection, and normal televisions. Meanwhile Konka, which already revealed its newly-developed 1080 color TV in early March, is even more ambitious, saying it aims to be "the King of the Color TV Industry" in 2004.
