China's first "Push-to-Talk", or PTT, cell phone has made its debut, produced by Kyocera China, which says that the company has developed two models to support PTT technology using China Unicom's network.
China Telecom is in the meantime also carrying out test operations in Guangdong, Hunan and Sichuan provinces. PTT phones combine the functions of cell phones and walkie-talkies, while also boasting cheaper telephone fees. The number of users is expected to reach 4 million within a year.
