China Unicom will launch a new value-added service–Video Information New Line– this week.
The company has ordered a special intelligent mobile phone terminal for the service, and will adopt Microsoft's operation system for the terminal. This is another round in the wrestling-bout between China Unicom and China Mobile, both of whom recently set foot in the media broadcasting industry. According to experts, however, the strength of the operators will not be the only thing that determines the final winner–the traditional media, such as CCTV, need to be taken into consideration also.
