Motorola plans to expand its reach in China with the construction of a manufacturing plant in the Tianjin economic technological development area.
The company will use the plant to support its efforts to grab a piece of the growing automotive market in the country, including telematics components, engine control units, and powertrain and interior electronics. The first phase of the plant, measuring around 200,000 square foot, will be completed later this year. China's auto sector is growing fast, with a CAGR of 18.5% last year.
