Orbotech AOI Systems Ordered By Beijing BOE Optoelectronic Tech

Orbotech Ltd. today announced the receipt of an order from Beijing BOE Optoelectronic Technology Co. Ltd for 12 in-line InVision-8050 automated optical inspection (AOI) systems and related EYES-2020 yield management software to be utilized in the manufacturer's new Gen 5 TFT-LCD fab to be opened in the fourth quarter of 2004 in Beijing.
This new fab will be the first in the BOE Group's planned construction of the largest TFT-LCD production facilities in China. Beijing BOE Optoelectronic Technology Co. LTD has developed, manufactured and supplied TFT-LCD products since the startup of Hynix Semiconductors in 1996. Since BOE's acquisition of the display business of Hynix Semiconductors in January 2003, the company has commercialized a number of TFT-LCD panels, including laptop computers; tablet PCs; avionic applications; medical applications; car navigation systems; and TVs.
