China Telecom is deploying Proxim's 5.8 GHz license-exempt broadband wireless products to expand capacity beyond the current licensed spectrum to meet market demand for high speed Internet access and voice over IP services. Forth Research Institute will supply the equipment and provide maintenance services and technical support for Proxim products to China Telecom.
Through collaboration with Proxim's partners in China, all major service providers in China are deploying Proxim's wireless networking solutions for applications such as voice and data backhaul, public hot spots, and last-mile broadband access.
