Sybase, Inc., a provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobile software, announced today that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Capinfo, a systems integrator in China, with the view to cooperating on wireless infrastructure and IT projects in Beijing and other cities.
With this relationship, Sybase and Capinfo target consideration to serve as the wireless community provider for the Beijing Olympics 2008 and other projects. Capinfo constructs, owns and operates the electronic information exchange platform, Capital Public Information Platform (CPIP), as well as numerous major information application projects in China.
Capinfo has expertise in the development of "digital cities" and has become a provider of e-Government, e-Commerce and network infrastructure services, actively participating in Beijing Municipal Government's information technology development. Capinfo's Community Management System (CMS), powered by Sybase software, has been successfully applied in the digital city projects of Wuhan City of Hubei Province and Dongguan City of Guangdong Province to automate municipal public services.
