Silicon Labs and TCL Establish Joint Wireless Development Laboratory

Silicon Laboratories Inc., a developer of high-performance, analog-intensive, mixed-signal ICs, and TCL Mobile Communication Co., Ltd., today announced a joint development laboratory focused on radio frequency (RF) design for wireless handsets.
The joint laboratory is located at TCL's facility in Huizhou, China and is staffed with Silicon Laboratories engineers, enabling the two teams to work closely on the development of TCL's next generation of handsets. The establishment of the joint development lab expands the two companies' relationship. TCL selected Silicon Laboratories' Aero I transceiver for many of its new models going into production that feature color screens, cameras and Java technology.
Silicon Laboratories has expanded its presence in Asia as a result of rapid market growth in the region. The company has a direct presence in China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan providing technical support to its customers.
