Wolfson Expands Manufacturing Sources To China

Wolfson Microelectronics plc announced today that it has contracted CSMC Technologies Corporation for foundry services, using the 150mm fab facility at Wuxi, China.
The qualification of the CSMC-Tech fab was announced in the chairman's statement at Wolfson's AGM on the 22nd April 2004. CSMC-Tech offers integrated circuit manufacturing, foundry management and operating services for fabless design houses and integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) that outsource their production. Founded in 1997, CSMC-Tech's Fab 1 is the first and one of the largest open foundries in China. It has been dedicated to providing high-quality and cost-effective foundry services mainly for logic, mixed signal, high voltage, and non-volatile memory ICs, down to 0.35 micron process technology.
