According to Professor Zhou Feng, deputy director of the Automatic Identification Technology Lab of Fudan University and a member of the standard work team, the second draft of the national RFID standard will soon be submitted to the Standardization Administration of China for final review at a meeting to be held in Chongqing next month.
The Standardization Administration of China will decide which standard to adopt for RFID to be after this revised version is submitted, which is said to use 900Mhz for transmission. Once the standard is formally publicized, the relevant departments will begin to ban the sale of products which fail to conform with to the domestic market standard. Prof. Zhou has stated that the team working on the RFID tag standard has conducted close contact with related international organizations in order to ensure the mutual compatibility of the nationally-made RFID with its foreign counterparts.
