Motorola, Inc. has launched an Application Center of Excellence (ACOE) in China that will provide the dedicated resources of an applications development organization to research new wireless data services and help operators evaluate applications and integrate them into their networks.
The Application COE was designed by Motorola in consultation with China's leading telecom operators and 3rd party application developers. With over US$3.4B total investment in China to date, Motorola is building local manufacturing and R&D capabilities in order to provide the country with advanced communications solutions. Motorola's first R&D center in China was established in 1993 and there are now 19 centers with over 1600 R&D engineers.
In addition to providing operators an integrated end-to-end solution, the Motorola Application COE offers several advantages including quality control, strong engineering and logistic support, and a sales and marketing channel.
