Ericsson has been awarded a contract by Beijing Communication Corporation, a subsidiary of China Netcom Corporation (CNC), to provide In-Building Solutions (IBS) for the new National Grand Theatre in China.
Under the contract, Ericsson will provide full services including project management, network design, installation, testing, operation and maintenance, as well as hardware and software for the in-building solution of the National Grand Theatre.
This is one of the world's most complex IBS system ever built, as it will incorporate six different technologies including Trunking Radio, CDMA800, GSM900, GSM1800, PHS, and WCDMA. It is also the first IBS contract that Ericsson has received in China. CNC Beijing is the main communications contractor of the National Grand Theatre. Ericsson will work closely with CNC Beijing to provide complete in-building communications solutions for the project. The project implementation will start in mid-August, and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2005.
