Shanghai Stock Exchange Applies New Computer Technique

The technical staff of the Shanghai Stock Exchange has completed research on computer clusters used for index calculation, and the Exchange will soon apply formally for the device, said official sources.
The device can provide service about stock market index for a variety of demands such as real-time processing, calculation, keyword search and system management. Using the Linux technology, the device is "highly reliable and cost-efficient," said official sources. The device is also a result of cooperation between the Exchange and the institute of computer under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
