Starting at the beginning of 2005, the application software standard for all domestic mobile phones in China will be unified. This is to facilitate content storage and data transmission among mobile phones of different brands and types.
Currently, the Ministry of Information Industry is preparing to make relevant regulations to standardize mobile phone production, and the work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
But according to Mr. He Guili, the person in charge of drafting the regulation for the government, it is impossible to realize a mutual communications scheme among all mobile phones in the country until new regulations are made and new types of mobile phones are popularized.
