Yesterday, Kingsoft's two main software products in Beijing, Kingsoft Antivirus 6 Power Enhanced Version and Kingsoft Antivirus 6 Safety Package, were pulled from select store shelves by members of China's Public Security Bureau (PSB). The software apparently had not yet been approved for sale in Beijing by the PSB and other agencies.
Beijing's Kemao E-Shopping Mall in Zhongguancun was one location where the PSB took the software off store shelves.
Kingsoft is now under investigation for breaking the administrative laws of Beijing. The company had started selling the products prior to receiving permission from relevant government consumer bureaus.
