It has been reported in the local media that a new virus–Trojan.Happyear.a–and an offshoot–Trojan.Happyear.b–is in circulation and stealing information from online accounts belonging to China Merchants Bank's clients.
The bank subsequently began to issue an announcement on its website, claiming it had not identified any virus trying to attack its clients, and that false reports were being generated to misguide clients and harm the bank's online banking service. In addition, the bank said they had adopted multi-security measures for its online banking system, meaning that clients should feel confident about their accounts.
