Following Lenovo's earlier launching of a computer developed with AMD, the company hit the low-end market this week, releasing a computer with a liquid-crystal display, priced at CNY4999 and again developed with AMD.
The computer–the Jiayue C 1060A–makes use of AMD's Sempron 2200+ processor. The general consensus in the industry is that Lenovo was only able to launch such a low-price product because of its cooperation with AMD–otherwise it would have been impossible just to bring out a PC below the CNY5000 range, let alone try to popularize liquid crystal displays in the general market at the same time.
