A 22-year old hacker, Zhu Renpu, took advantage of weaknesses in Microsoft's code to illegally enter the sales system of Beijing Hua Ao Development and Trade Company.
Adopting the guise of a system administrator, Zhu stole a total of 4880 game cards from the company and sold them to netizens at 60-70% of the face value.
When the company discovered the intrusion, the police arrested Zhu after identifying his IP address. The court sentenced Zhu to 12 years imprisonment and fined him CNY20000.
