On September 21, 263 Network Group announced in Beijing its formal acquisition of ET66 and simultaneously launched a new broadband multi-media instant communications product–eCommunication (eHuaTong).
eCommunication features multi-media, multi-user and multi-mode capabilities, surpassing the basic function of chatting to include more complex operations such as e-commerce and online education. The launching of this product is thought to be the first step 263 has taken to change itself from an email operator to what it refers to as a "network post office".
