Competition in China's online auction market has become very fierce since eBay entered the arena by acquiring Eachnet and aimed to outdo its competitors.
However, if we compare the volume of transactions and number of clients of Taobao and Eachnet in the past few days, Taobao is actually overtaking Eachnet with an increase of 768%–beyond eBay's expectations. Analysts believe that this is mainly due to eBay's inadequate understanding of the Chinese market.
