Citibank analyst Craig Berg has said that the Chinese government will probably not issue its first 3G license until 2006.
He added that the postponement of the licenses, which shows that China is developing slowly in 3G infrastructure construction, is bad news for chip manufacturers such as Texas Instruments China, which had expected the licenses to be issued by the first half of 2005.
