Zhejiang Power has awarded Luminous the contract to expand its communications network to provide telecommunication transmission.
This network expansion covers six cities, including HangZhou and JiangShan. Working closely with partner Keybridge, Luminous has installed its PacketWave system to provide telecommunications services for Zhejiang Power customers. Luminous' products have also been deployed by Zhejiang Power in four other cities, bringing to 10 the number of Zhejiang Province cities providing customers with a range of services over the Luminous RPR platform. These services include TDM lease lines, Ethernet private lines, Ethernet local access, E1 voice, narrow band data, Internet access, video services, and Voice-over-IP.
Luminous' PacketWave solutions are based on Resilient Packet Ring (RPR), the recently approved IEEE standard 802.17.
