China Unicom Chooses Helix Mobile Platform

RealNetworks (NASDAQ: RNWK), announced today that China Unicom has selected its Helix mobile platform to enable streaming video and audio services for China Unicom's CDMA mobile customers.
RealNetworks' Helix mobile platform can uniquely address the reach and technical complexity of the world's many different GSM and CDMA operators. An end-to-end mobile media solution, the Helix mobile platform is comprised of the following mobile products: Helix Universal Server — mobile, Helix Universal Gateway — mobile, Helix Mobile Producer (Standard and Professional versions), the Helix Service Delivery Suite, and the RealPlayer mobile.
RealNetworks' mobile solution supports all major mobile format including the 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards, H.263, QcCELP, Narrow- and Wide-band AMR and MPEG-4, as well as RealAudio and RealVideo. In addition, the platform supports both 2.5G and 3G networks, including GPRS, EDGE, CDMA2000 and W-CDMA.
