Beijing Industry Promotion Bureau has disclosed that Kangfu Superpower Semiconductor (Beijing) Company, registered to American SPS, is considering a US$1 billion investment to build a factory that will manufacture 8-inch chips.
The project is currently under discussion and awaiting the approval of concerned government departments.
Once it is put into operation, $200 million will be invested in the first schedule to produce 10000 chips, $400 million in the second schedule for making 20000-30000 and $400 million in the third schedule for 60000 chips.
