Computer Associates (NYSE: CA) just announced the appointment of Hera Siu as country manager for Computer Associates China. This new appointment comes a week after the company became the first multinational software vendor in 2004 to be certified as an officially sanctioned "Software Enterprise" by the Chinese government.
Hera will be responsible for CA's operations in China, including joint venture companies, and will report to Cliff Yung, the area manager for CA's Asia North operations.
"I look forward to building on CA's strategic investment in China," remarked Hera Siu. "CA has a strong local team, a growing customer base and a unique opportunity to participate in this market's rapid growth."
CA last week became the first multinational software vendor in 2004 to be certified as an officially sanctioned "Software Enterprise" by the Chinese government. As a result, CA will benefit from a variety of preferential policies regarding taxation, purchasing and human resources as set forth in China State Council Document Number 18.
