Digitalchina, the largest IT dealer in China, yesterday revealed its new strategy, which is strikingly similar to that of IBM.
The slogan of the new Digitalchina strategy is translated into English as "IT Service Offered As Needed", similar to IBM's translated slogan of "Responsive To Needs". Analysts in local media are saying that this shows the company plans to become a major competitor for IBM in the future.
But according to Guo Wei, president and CEO of the company, Digitalchina differs from IBM in that the former is purely a third-party service provider, while IBM is a consumer and business sales network that places less emphasis on providing services.
