Just days after Great Wall dissolved its former partnership with IBM (IBM) because of the latter's relationship with rival Lenovo (LNVGY.PK), Great Wall has now signed a new agreement to work with IBM on selling server-based applications and components.
International System Technology Company (ISTC) is the new joint venture between Great Wall Computer and IBM. The new company is headquartered in Shenzhen, the manufacturing base of Great Wall Computer.
It will be committed to server production, not only to providing IBM eServer X series products to the Asia-Pacific region, but also to manufacturing IBM eServer P series products. It is expected to achieve an annual sales volume of more than US$1 billion. IBM and Great Wall Computer respectively hold 80% and 20% of the share in the new company.
