China Telecom's Yellow Pages Information Company says it has reached an agreement with online search engine Baidu.com.
The two companies will work together to launch an online service for searching telephone numbers in Shanghai. There is no definite date from either company on when the new service will be launched.
China Telecom currently also has SMS-based directory searches available to mobile subscribers.
The print version of the "Shanghai Yellow Pages Telephone Directory 2005" was released this past week with a circulation of 700000.
