China Unicom has won a CDMA license in the public bidding held by the Macao government, and it is now approved to construct the first CDMA network in Macao.
China Unicom will be permitted to run local CDMA and international roaming services with the license.
The company plans to invest CNY250 million to build a CDMA network in the region, but Unicom also says that the process will be slow and it only expects to unveil a roaming service by the end of this year.
