There have been recent rumors within the China Internet industry that Huicong International Information Company plans to sell Zhousou.com, one of its affiliated online search engine services. However, Chen Pei, CEO of Zhongsou, has now denied this rumor in interviews with local media.
Zhongsou is one of the largest Chinese search engine platforms in China, and it is also one of the biggest Chinese search engine technology providers. However industry insiders say the private company is still losing money.
It is believed that if Huicong does not make additional investment into Zhongsou, the latter's level of services will decline. The Chinese search engine sector is hotly contested with players like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Sohu, Sina, Netease, and Baidu all working towards capturing market share.
