Three Chinese companies are launching a mobile content contest in China to flush out talented individual mobile content developers. The contest runs from March to August 2005.
Linktone (LTON) and two local magazines, Mengya and HuGang Economics, will sponsor the contest and hold a roadshow targeting approximately eight major cities and 15 leading universities in China.
Participants will enroll in the contest by sending a wireless short message (SMS) to Linktone. They can then submit their prospective mobile content in four major categories: stories, photographs or illustrations, flash, and color ringback tones. Upon submission, these creative works will be published on the contest web page located at yuanchuang.linktone.com and officially entered in the competition.
The contest judging committee will consist of Changtian Zhao, chief editor of Mengya magazine; Xuan Huang, SMS novelist from Taiwan; Ning Tang, reporter from XinMingWanBao; best-selling authors Cun Chen and Haixiang Xue; and Raymond Yang, chief executive officer of Linktone. The selection of winning entries will be based on the recommendations of the judging committee and the results of online voting via yuanchuang.linktone.com.
