China Netcom Enters Search Engine Industry

China Netcom has turned its eyes to the search engine sector and is launching a new online Chinese Yellow Pages.
The China Telephone Directory Company, a yellow page operator affiliated with China Netcom Group, will launch www.chinayp.com.cn in cooperation with www.net.cn.
This new website will be engaged in local online yellow pages search services and it is expected to challenge the traditional search service providers like Google and Baidu.
