The Wireless Management Bureau of the Ministry of Information Industry has called on local telecom departments to stop approving applications on the 450M frequency.
The 450-470M frequency section has been adopted by Chinese government departments like the public security bureau, army, railway, transportation bureau, research institutions and civil aviation because of it stable transmission performance and low cost.
In order to ensure the normal use of 450M for those institutions, the Wireless Management Bureau has criticized some telecom departments for continuing to use and parcel out the frequency.
During the "Village Telecommunications Project 2005 Work Conference" held on May 8, the Ministry of Information Industry reiterated the issue, asking each operator to take laws and regulations into consideration and to not use the 450M frequency in the future.
