Wang Xiaochu, president and CEO of China Telecom, said the company is looking for an international strategic partner to improve its overall image in the global telecommunications market.
Wang made the statement yesterday during the company's annual conference.
As there is little space for fixed-line phone growth in China, China Telecom hopes to play an important role in broadband television services. Wang said China Telecom hopes to morph its current broadband users into network television users.
